On the subject of Burgers

I was sorely condemned by a new yorker friend for listing Corner B as one of my favorite spots in NY.
Now I know there may be many a "better" burger in NYC/BKLYN, but I still have an affinity for the olde West Village tavern "Corner Bistro". No frills (and i only go when there is not a line out the door) for a quick, cheap bacon cheeseburger and
$2 Mcsorley's ale. All for Under $10.
I guess it is nostalgic for me, good memories with great friends, comforting that it is always the same year after year. I especially enjoy going in the fall after a walk around the West Village.

In order to keep this blog current, and free of chastising ;) I will add my friend Duffy's favorite picks here, as well....

"best burger is NYC is lunch burger at
Peter Luger's.
Stoned Crow is the Corner Bistro burger 2.0
other favorites
BRGR
Resto"
Thanks Duff!

he also mentioned a very top secret burger spot, that i have sworn to secrecy not to divulge, but maybe after my trip to NY in October and testing it out myself i will add it here.

When In Palm Springs

EAT here:
Las Casuelas request the terrraza, order the shrimp fajitas
LG's Steakhouse amazing filet mignon
Cheeky's breakfast and lunch great menu
Koffi best coffee and espresso. modern design, nestled in cute courtyard.
Take the Palm Springs Tram up to Idylwild, (my childhood home) for a snack atop the mountain.
or drive up the mountain and eat @ Jan's Red Kettle, order the BLT.

on the way back to LA after you detour to say hi to the Dinosaurs, don't forget to stop @ Hadley's for a date shake and a garden burger. Really interesting family owned shop, with a wide variety of fruits nuts and snacks. They even sell Have a Corn Chips, my favorite tamari and lime seasoned tortilla chips made with love by hare krishna's.

A beginning

My two passions in life are traveling and food. The truth of it is...wherever I am visiting, and how ever many sites I am dying to see, first and foremost, I am excited to eat.
I will plan my entire visit around a "must eat here" list.
Sometimes this takes careful planning, other times it requires a 6 meal day.
I love to eat great food. I love telling others where they "have" to eat. In an effort to......
a. not be pushy and b. have a forum for friends and others to read about my new favorites (and tried and true spots) on their own time....I am starting this here blog.
I will be highlighting my favorite places to eat from all my favorite places I've traveled....Along with commentary of other shops and scenery to visit in the area of your dining place.
I hope you enjoy and return often.
happy eating!
